That we may know Him...

Hey siblings in Christ... today im gonna share a bit bout knowing our Creator, El-Shaddai, God Almighty... :-) I learned this from my church's interim pastor.. Ps James Krishnan.. :) Just wanna share this to let u guys 'know' God more..

But before that, we might wanna find out the meaning of the word "KNOW".. hehehe.. im not gonna use a dictionary... or google it.. So this is what im gonna do.. use the Bible.. WHY? cos its the Word of God.. Its our life guide.. simple as that.. so here goes...

In Gen 4:1,
the NIVersion reads "Adam lay with his wife Eve, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Cain. She said, "With the help of the LORD I have brought forth a man.""

Notice the first half k? "Adam lay with his wife Eve".

Now the NLT version reads "Now Adam had sexual relations with his wife, Eve, and she became pregnant. When she gave birth to Cain, she said, "With the LORD's help, I have produced a man!""

And lastly we read ESVersion, "Now Adam knew Eve his wife, and she conceived and bore Cain, saying, “I have gotten a man with the help of the LORD.”"

So from this 1 verse alone, we can know the meaning of the word "know" :) Using the 3 different versions of the Bible will help u see clearer the meaning behind the word.. And comparing the three different versions we can see that the word know actually means having an intimate relationship.. and so to God, knowing Him means having an intimate relationship with Him! Done! Mystery solved! :) Hahaha.. well, u know how God's ways are different from the world's way? His thinking is far beyond ours.. So in order to even have a glimpse of it, we need to go thru the Bible and talk to Him more :)

So back to our topic.. Knowing God... or we can change it to "Having an intimate relationship with God" now that we know the meaning of the word 'know'... Anyway, how well do u know God today? Or how close are u to God today? Are u getting closer? Or are u getting further?

How to know and be sure? If you are close to God, you seek Him 1st and not lean on your own understanding.. (Pro 3:5-6) He's gonna be your 1st priority if ur close to Him.. Everything ur doing, ur thinking, u know that He's right there IN you, WITH you and FOR you!

So lets get closer to Him! Here's how!

1. Discern what hinders you from knowing God

U need to know ur enemy.. (John 8:44) Satan is a murderer from the beginning, a liar and the father of lies.. (1Pet 5:8) He is the hungry lion waiting to eat u up.. (John 10:10) He is the one who steal, kill and destroy.. And because of this, he's gonna throw everything at u to bring u down... to distant you from God.. So brothers and sisters.. identify and leave the things that hinder you! Be careful cos it can be anything ranging from sins to hobbies to even friends! But in everything, know that ur victorious in Christ! (1Cor 15:57) Never forget this bcos Satan will take advantage of it if u forget this!

2. Discover what you want

Well.. 2ndly, find out wat u want.. U want God.. U want to be seek Him... You wan to be like Him! Thats wat we want.. so get closer with God in prayer and through the Word.. for His Word will not pass away.. (Mark 13:31) Heaven and Earth will change, but His Word will still remain! 

3. Determine how to get it

Last but not least.. surrender yourself.. a 100%...Give ur all.. give ur best... take hold of Jesus and press on towards what God has for us... forget those that have passed.. dun dwell in the past too long.. move on! For God has a great plan for u! (Jer 29:11) If ur feeling awesome right now, remind urself that u will be feeling even greater in the days to come! Why? Because each day you are closer to Him and u know Him more!

I still remember the time when u got the title 'Dato'... Many people are laughing out loud.. Teasing u... sharing in Fb/twitter that u have become a grandfather.. Since then in every match, they have always been calling u names.. posting funny quotes... comparing u and Lin Dan..

So what?

U still embrace every challenge that comes, right? Still u tried ur very best.. U got ur wins and u got ur loses.. but that doesn't matter... Behind those, its the respect that u have earned.. You have proven to them their so called 'grandfather' has since the very beginning been their hero.. they may overlook this in 2008...

2011..

but not in 2012... U fought well and u finished well.. Hu can argue bout that? Are u still not good enough? NO i would say.. im not gonna compare u with Lin Dan or other athletes.. cos u proved that u are Malaysia's Dato LCW! U gave a 100% in the olympics.. from groups, to quarter, semi, then final.. I must say u have done well representing Malaysia's athletes.. This is also wat makes our athletes different from athletes of other nations.. You showed disciplined.. Ur outer appearance tells it all.. Sports councils around the world are proud of you.. You respect every player and referee.. and MOST IMPORTANTLY you respect the match! U dun fake a match just to have a higher chance to win.. u dun taunt ur opponent just to anger them or put them down.. You showed humility.. U have great determination and a strong will..  So people that scoffed at u, dun worry bout them.. cos u have proved urself... those with eyes have seen it.. those with ears have heard it.. all over the world witnessed it... and we are all proud of u!

So when u come back, u think we're all gonna be gloomy and sad and mourning at ur defeat? You think the whole Malaysia's gonna try to cheer u up?  OF COS NOT! 

No! Even though u lost! Its not just u.. its us! We lost! But that doesn't matter... Yes to us Malaysians, we are really hoping to get our 1st Olympics Gold.. we are really hoping to win the badminton men's singles.. As a matter of fact, we are dying to see it happen! Yes its important.. But in the process we realized there is something more important than that.. Its about you proving urself! Just as soon as the sad and disappointment came in, we just realized that winning or losing is not that important anymore.. U have done far greater things than that.. That is why when u come bac, we wont be sad and gloomy.. instead we will throw a party for you... because we know..

Are you being thankful?

Hello everyone! Welcome back to my blog :) So im gonna start off this time with a joke I got from Joel Osteen.. Been wanting to grab a chance to share it to y'all~ :P

So here goes... One day a pair of middle-aged couple was getting ready to go to bed... The old lady stood in front of the mirror and surveyed herself critically, "Honey, u see... My hair is all white, my face is all wrinkled... I'm starting to get old.. Can you possibly think of anything that might cheer me up?"
The husband thought for a moment and then answered, "At least you can be thankful that you still have 20/20 vision."

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Funny huh? Hope u get the joke :D While its funny, i think it has something we can learn from.. You see, most of us are living in an "enough" state.. Well being humans that are never satisfied we still ask for more and more and more each time.. But regardless of that, most of us have all our basic needs at least... So living in this "enough" state doesn't really makes us yearn for basic stuffs.. Yeah we are getting less grateful and less thankful for the things we have.. Just want more more and more.. Cut that short, my point is we live in such "enough" state until we don't even realize we are living in the blessings of God! We don't even realize what God has done for us, anymore! We are like immune~ Getting too comfortable everywhere.. So we just don't thank God anymore.. Exactly how your feeling: There's nothing to thank God about! Everything's normal!

Yeah right! You could have thank God that everything's normal!

See, we are living in God's blessings yet we are taking it for granted.. Even worse, we feel sad and deprived and complain about this and that.. and even if we don't complain, we cant find any reason to thank God!

And God's gonna tell you to be thankful you still have 20/20 vision! God has been giving you more and more each day, and yet you are being all numb.. and dumb? When you are being ungrateful, you are just gonna sink into the world. A heart that is not thankful will soon loses the spirit of worship, the spirit of joy.. All you get is temporary joy where you get all excited then its all gone.. And you tried to find the pure joy everywhere but refusing to seek God.. You put your heart in the world and your gonna lose it..

Even worse, when all these things happened, you will missed out the great things God wants to show you! You think the blessings you receive everyday are good enough already? Oh you think its normal for you cause you are God's child? Open your eyes! Wake up! God doesn't want to bless you physically only, He wants to bless you spiritually also! The fruits of the Holy Spirit! Love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.. And against all these there is no law! (Galatians 5:22-23)

What else you missed? Many more! God's perspective! Without that, it is impossible for you to understand things that God has for you.. Things that He reveals to you.. 20/20 vision is just not enough for that.. A close relationship with God, it is different.. A blind man can see through God's perspective.. How amazing is that?


The purpose of life... YOUR purpose of life... If you want to know the way... Be thankful... Be grateful.. Humble yourselves and "...seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto.."
And God will help you see :) Come to Him with a heart of thanksgiving! "Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."(1Thessalonians 5:18)
With a thanksgiving heart, you are to live out the Christ in you! "Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples!" (Psalm 105:1) Amen!
