Are you being thankful?

Hello everyone! Welcome back to my blog :) So im gonna start off this time with a joke I got from Joel Osteen.. Been wanting to grab a chance to share it to y'all~ :P

So here goes... One day a pair of middle-aged couple was getting ready to go to bed... The old lady stood in front of the mirror and surveyed herself critically, "Honey, u see... My hair is all white, my face is all wrinkled... I'm starting to get old.. Can you possibly think of anything that might cheer me up?"
The husband thought for a moment and then answered, "At least you can be thankful that you still have 20/20 vision."

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Funny huh? Hope u get the joke :D While its funny, i think it has something we can learn from.. You see, most of us are living in an "enough" state.. Well being humans that are never satisfied we still ask for more and more and more each time.. But regardless of that, most of us have all our basic needs at least... So living in this "enough" state doesn't really makes us yearn for basic stuffs.. Yeah we are getting less grateful and less thankful for the things we have.. Just want more more and more.. Cut that short, my point is we live in such "enough" state until we don't even realize we are living in the blessings of God! We don't even realize what God has done for us, anymore! We are like immune~ Getting too comfortable everywhere.. So we just don't thank God anymore.. Exactly how your feeling: There's nothing to thank God about! Everything's normal!

Yeah right! You could have thank God that everything's normal!

See, we are living in God's blessings yet we are taking it for granted.. Even worse, we feel sad and deprived and complain about this and that.. and even if we don't complain, we cant find any reason to thank God!

And God's gonna tell you to be thankful you still have 20/20 vision! God has been giving you more and more each day, and yet you are being all numb.. and dumb? When you are being ungrateful, you are just gonna sink into the world. A heart that is not thankful will soon loses the spirit of worship, the spirit of joy.. All you get is temporary joy where you get all excited then its all gone.. And you tried to find the pure joy everywhere but refusing to seek God.. You put your heart in the world and your gonna lose it..

Even worse, when all these things happened, you will missed out the great things God wants to show you! You think the blessings you receive everyday are good enough already? Oh you think its normal for you cause you are God's child? Open your eyes! Wake up! God doesn't want to bless you physically only, He wants to bless you spiritually also! The fruits of the Holy Spirit! Love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.. And against all these there is no law! (Galatians 5:22-23)

What else you missed? Many more! God's perspective! Without that, it is impossible for you to understand things that God has for you.. Things that He reveals to you.. 20/20 vision is just not enough for that.. A close relationship with God, it is different.. A blind man can see through God's perspective.. How amazing is that?


The purpose of life... YOUR purpose of life... If you want to know the way... Be thankful... Be grateful.. Humble yourselves and "...seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto.."
And God will help you see :) Come to Him with a heart of thanksgiving! "Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."(1Thessalonians 5:18)
With a thanksgiving heart, you are to live out the Christ in you! "Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples!" (Psalm 105:1) Amen!
